Piano Keys - Wedding Pianist Buckinghamshire

Buckinghamshire and Me as a Wedding Pianist

My name is Eugene Portman and I am often booked as a wedding pianist in Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties. Also, I would just like to say that this area of the UK is really beautiful and it has some wonderful venues to match. It is within easy reach of London which is handy for those living in the city who want to get married in a more rural setting.

I play the piano for a lot of weddings in Buckinghamshire, but I also perform for a lot of other events in the area.

The Music

I have to be versatile in order to be successful as a wedding pianist, especially in the Buckinghamshire area. Furthermore, I definitely can’t get away with just playing one or two styles of music. To explain further, I am often required to play different styles of music for the various parts of the day. For instance, classical music is often the preferred choice for ceremonies, while jazz is definitely the in-thing for drinks receptions. The genres I cover include pop, classical, jazz, blues, Latin, and sing-along.

My Work as a Singalong Pianist in Buckinghamshire

There is a recent trend in the Buckinghamshire region to hire me as a sing-along pianist for weddings. However, it is usually Wartime and London themed events where this sort of entertainment is most needed. When I do a singalong evening, I provide all the song sheets and dress like a typical Cockney pianist. This consists of Bowler hat, waistcoat, neckerchief, pocket watch, and Albert chain, grandad shirt etc.

To find out more please visit my sing-along page. Alternatively, please visit my other site at www.uksingalongpianist.co.uk and find out if I am playing the piano at any public event in Buckinghamshire.

The Line-ups

For most weddings in the Buckinghamshire area, I perform as a solo pianist. However, I can provide a full range of line-ups from duos and trios right up to a five-piece jazz band. The full range is as follows:

  • Duo – piano and vocals or piano and bass
  • Trio – piano, bass and vocals or piano, bass and drums
  • Quartet – piano, bass, drums and vocals or piano, bass, drums and sax
  • Five Piece Jazz Band – piano, bass, drums, sax and vocals

The Grand Piano Shell

Very few venues have a real piano and any pianist performing in Buckinghamshire for a wedding would usually have to use a digital keyboard. This works really well, except for the fact that some people quite like the appearance of a normal piano. I have the answer to this problem with my baby grand piano shell. As its name implies, it is in the shape of a baby grand piano and discretely houses a digital piano.

The baby grand piano shell costs an extra £80 on top of my normal fee and can be set up anywhere. I play the piano for a lot of weddings in Buckinghamshire and I have used the baby grand piano shell for many of them.
