Wedding Pianist in Kent
My name is Eugene Portman and Kent provides me with a constant supply of work as a wedding pianist. The area is the home to quite a number of castles and historic buildings which are now used as venues. These venues include Westenhanger Castle, Hythe, the Archbishop’s Palace in Maidstone, the Guildhall, Sandwich, and St Augustines Priory, Ashford. In addition to these, there are also many golf clubs and luxury hotels dotted up and down the county. With all this choice there is no wonder that this region of England is very popular for weddings. Another reason might be its proximity to London which makes it ideal for all those couples trying to escape the big city.
As well as weddings I also play the piano for many other kinds of events in Kent. These include product launches, music festivals, private parties, barbecues and corporate events.
As already mentioned, a lot of my work in Kent is as a wedding pianist. This means that I have to be versatile and I have to be able to play music of many genres and styles. Just to clarify, I am often required to provide different styles of music for each part of the day. The styles I play include ragtime, jazz, swing, pop, rock, Latin, classical, and even singalong.
Pianists are often required to play classical music for wedding ceremonies especially in the Kent area. So, make sure that the pianist you hire is classically trained if you require this style of music.
Being a Sing-along Pianist in Kent
A very recent trend in Kent has led to me being hired as a sing-along pianist for parties and weddings. This is something that is quite new and has quickly become something I love. This sort of thing is often associated with Cockney themed events, but more and more couples are making it a feature of their wedding day.
I travel all over as a wedding pianist, but here are the towns I cover in Kent:
- Royal Tunbridge Wells
- Herne Bay
- East Malling
- New Ash Green
- Paddock Wood
- Saint Mary’s Bay
