Wedding Pianist in Kent
Kent is very familiar to me as I used to play the piano six days a week at the Tudor Park Hotel in Bearsted near Maidstone, and I have also been the resident pianist at the Spa Hotel in Royal Tunbridge Wells. My work now enables me do a lot more travelling and I cover the entire UK.
Kent is known as ‘The Garden of England’ and it is the home to quite a number of castles which are used as venues such as Westenhanger Castle in Hythe and Leeds Castle. It is also the home to many other historic buildings taht are used for weddings such as The Arbishops Palace in Maidstone, the Guildhall in Sandwich and St Augustines Priory near Ashford. There are also many golf clubs and luxury hotels dotted up and down the county that are also licenced for marriage ceremonies. With all this choice there is no wonder that this region of England is very popular for weddings. aone reason could be because it is within easy reach of London for all those couples trying to escape the hurly-burly of city life.
Most of my work is as a wedding pianist and Kent gives me a constant supply of work in this field. In order to play for weddings I have to be able to play music from many genres so that I can provide for every part of the day. The styles I play include ragtime, jazz, swing, pop, rock, latin, classical and event singalong.
A very recent trend has been to hire me as a sing-along pianist and I must say that this is something that I enjoy. More often than not this sort of thing is associated with Cockney themed events, but more and more couples are making it a feature of their big day.
