Wedding Pianist in Sussex
Sussex does seem to be a hot spot for weddings and I seem to get a lot of work in the region as a pianist. There are a lot of really good musicians in the region, especially around the Brighton area, and I have performed with many of them.
I left home when I was 18 and went to live in West Sussex for a couple of years. This was a great adventure for me and I have always had a special fondness for the county. Since these early days I have performed numerous times in the area and visited many of it’s beautiful venues. These range from historic buildings such as Edes House in Chichester and Court Mansion in East Grinstead to high class hotels such as the Alias Seattle at Brighton Marina and the Hydro Hotel in Eastbourne.
Most of my work throughout Sussex is as a wedding pianist and because of this I have to be able to play many genres. Being versatile means that I can provide music for every part of your big day. For instance, I’m often asked to play Bach and Debussy for the ceremony followed by jazz and swing for the ceremony. I’m also often asked for mellow rock and pop ballads during the wedding breakfast. The styles I cover iinclude classical, ragtime, blues, latin, jazz, swing and even sing-along. The broad range I play ranges from Schubert and Einaudi to Coldplay and Oasis.
Recently there has been a growing trend to hire me as a sing-along pianist. This started in London and Sussex areas, but it has spread to the Home Counties and beyond. Most of the bookings are for Cockney themed events, but sometimes a sing-song goes down really well at quite formal functions. I have had couples hire me to do a sing-along as part of their big day. For this type of thing I bring all the song sheets and I can dress in true Cockney attire including waistcoat, bowler, hat, red neckerchief, grandad shirt, pocket watch etc. Please visit this page HERE to find out more.
