Worcestershire and Me as a Wedding Pianist
My name is Eugene Portman and my work as a wedding pianist is certainly growing in the Worcestershire area. This area is home to some stunning scenery and has the venues to match. The enormous array of venues gives couple an amazing choice of place to get married.
I’ve mentioned weddings, but I also perform as pianist for other kinds of events in the Worcestershire area.
Versatility is paramount when it comes to performing as a wedding pianist, especially in the Worcestershire area. It isn’t uncommon for me to have to play different styles of music for the various parts of the big day. For example, classical music has become the norm for ceremonies, while jazz has become the in-thing for drinks receptions. Luckily I do play a lot of different styles of music including pop, rock, jazz, classical, Latin and sing-along.
Being a Singalong Pianist in Worcestershire
There is definitely a growing trend in Worcestershire to hire me as a singalong pianist for weddings. However, this sort of thing is even more popular for other types of events such as parties, Wartimes celebrations, and Cockney nights. When I perform as a sing-along pianist I provide all the song sheets and I dress as a typical Cockney pianist. This consists of Bowler hat, waistcoat, neckerchief, Albert watch chain, grandad shirt, etc.
When I’m booked for a wedding in the Worcestershire area it is usually as a solo pianist. However, I can provide much more than this. If you are looking at having more than one musician perform, I can provide lineups from duos and trios right up to a five-piece jazz band. Here is the full list I have to offer:
- Duo – piano and vocals or piano and bass
- Trio – piano, bass and vocals or piano, bass and drums
- Quartet – piano, bass, drums and vocals or piano, bass, drums and sax
- Five Piece Jazz Band – piano, bass, drums, sax and vocals
Please contact me to find a line-up that will fit your budget and available space at the venue.
I perform as a pianist for weddings throughout Worcestershire. Here are just some of the towns, villages and cities I cover:
